3 Techniques To Get You Out Of Your Uncertainty and Into Your Happy!

If there has ever been a time in life ridden by uncertainty, it's now! People losing their jobs, unemployment benefits are fizzling out, the second wave of stimulus checks are not yet confirmed, and with all of this quarantining (is that a word?) relationships are on edge.


However


It is important to remember, everything listed above is a circumstance, and we always have the option to be the victim or victor of our circumstances. I think we can all agree at this point, that life is always ready to throw us a curveball, and most of us don't even understand baseball...let alone play it! Luckily, we live in the age of information, so there are plenty of resources out there to get our heads in the game. Yet, true transformation doesn't come from information itself, but from its application.


To be transparent, my life is pretty much up in the air right now. Being a business owner and freelancer can be unnerving when you're not sure where your next paycheck is coming from. Especially when you're a full-fledged adult (living completely on your own, paying all of your bills, taking 100% accountability and responsibility of your life, and not to mention taking care of another precious life, y'all remember Dazey right!?) This used to freak me out. I used to get so anxious I would be completely stagnant for what seemed to be forever. I know I am not meant for a 9-5 gig, I never was, which is why they've never worked out. So I had to do something about my anxiety, my uncertainty.


After much research, much coaching, and much IG scrolling through motivational accounts I came up with a protocol of actions to implement when feeling that my uncertainty was outweighing my possibility. So here are 3 techniques to get you out of your uncertainty and into your happy!


1. Just Breathe

I know you've heard a million times, so here's a million and one! Returning to your breath is VITAL to getting out of your head and back into your life. The ancient practice of pranayama is a Sanskrit word describing yogic breath work. Prana translates to "vital life force." We have to breathe to live, and breathing deep using our diaphragms is the best way to feel relaxed in seconds. The deeper the breath the more oxygen is able to flow into your brain and your bloodstream. When oxygen enters our bloodstream it cleans every cell in our bodies. Oh, did you forget we are just billions of cells accumulated into an energetic forcefield!? Also, because the diaphragm is located directly below the heart, when we take deep breaths we are giving our hearts a LITERAL massage.


2. Be Grateful

It's hard to be grateful when you've got $500 to your name and your $1,200 rent is due tomorrow. I get it. But let's really sit and think about this, when have you ever been completley destitute? I'm talking had ZERO dollars, and ZERO people to call for help. I'm talking sleeping on park benches, under bridges, or right on the sidewalk. If you're reading this blog post you're not destitute, you have a phone or a computer. You have electicity and wifi that allows your devices to work. You have food in your belly, a roof over your head, your hands work, your feet work, your eyes work..your life works! When feeling anxious or uncertain write down at least 25 things that you're grateful for at that precise moment, re-read that list to yourself, breathe deeply into that list, and watch how your feelings change. Moreover watch the abundance of blessings that will be speeding into your life thereafter. Gratitude is the attitude. And since we already know what we put out comes back to us....well, you can finish this sentence!
